The Dose That Kills and Heals

Medea of Colchis — the Georgian princess and healer — understood that the same herb that cures can also destroy. She sacrificed everything for love, crossing the fragile line between devotion and loss.

Her story inspired me to paint with the flowers and plants once used by Medea — symbols of wisdom, courage, and transformation. Through them, I honor those in Georgia who still preserve this ancient knowledge and care for its living legacy.

Medea’s spirit lives in my own blood — her resilience, intelligence, and defiance form the code of who I am. Like her, I create to survive, turning pain into beauty, and memory into art.

This series explores the fragile threshold between remedy and poison, inspired by the ancient wisdom of Medea of Colchis — the legendary Georgian healer. Each flower portrayed here carries a dual essence: it can soothe or harm, save or destroy.

Painted in deep purples and ink tones, they evoke the mystery of ancient tinctures — a visual meditation on transformation, risk, and the eternal balance between the dose that kills and the dose that heals.
